Test yourself for chlamydia – home test free of charge
Order your home test online at selvtest.dk using your MitID.
The test kit will be sent to your address or to your usual parcel pickup point. The packaging does not reveal what’s inside.
You take the test yourself and return it for free in a prepaid envelope.
If the test shows you’re infected, healthcare staff from the region will contact you, guide you, and make sure you can pick up medication at the pharmacy.
Same test as at the doctor – just at home
The free home test is the same type as your doctor uses and is analyzed in a laboratory.
Self-tests for chlamydia from stores or purchased online are not lab-analyzed. They can be inaccurate and give the wrong result, making you think you’re healthy – and risk infecting others.

- Wait 14 days after unprotected sex before testing – otherwise the result may be unreliable
- Follow the instructions, take the test, and drop it off at your parcel shop
- The test will be analyzed in a laboratory
How you get your result
You’ll receive a message in your e-Boks with your test result.
If you’re infected, a healthcare professional will contact you.

Why get tested?
Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection in Denmark – and most people don’t notice any symptoms when infected. If you’ve had unprotected sex, you could be infected without knowing it.
If left untreated, chlamydia can cause serious problems later.
It can feel awkward and inconvenient to see the doctor about chlamydia. That’s why we make it easy and discreet for you to get tested.
Questions and answers about chlamydia and the home test

- Through unprotected sex when one partner is infected
- The bacteria spread through contact with mucous membranes (e.g., the vagina, urethra, rectum, or mouth
- It can also infect the eyes if you touch an infected area and then touch your eyes
- Using condoms helps protect against chlamydia
You can have chlamydia without noticing any symptoms. Most people feel nothing: about 75% of women and 50% of men show no symptoms.
That’s why it’s important to get tested if you’ve had unprotected sex or had sex with someone who tested positive.
